Sending a quote: what your customer sees

What your customer gets by email, text or link, how they open it without a password, and what happens after they sign.

Updated November 4, 2026

When you send a quote, your customer gets a link to review and sign it. Here is what they see, step by step, so you can tell them what to expect.

How it reaches them

  • Email: your note, the quote total and a button.
  • Text: a short message with the link.
  • Email and text: both, so they are more likely to see it.
  • Share link: copy it and send it any way you like.

Texting a new number

The first text to a number that has not agreed to texts asks your customer to reply YES. The quote link follows the YES.

If no YES comes within 7 days, the text is dropped and you are told. Email never waits for a YES.

Standing with your customer? Record their consent in the Send Quote dialog, and the first text carries the link.

How they open it

On Essentials, the link opens the quote straight away. There is no sign-in and no password.

On Starter and above, the link opens your customer portal. We text a code to the phone on the quote, and your customer types it in. There is no password.

The link belongs to your customer. If you open it yourself, it asks for their code. To see what they see, tap Preview in the Send Quote dialog.

Reviewing and signing

Your customer reads the line items and terms, then adds their signature. A phone, tablet or computer all work.

After they sign

  • You get a notification that the quote was signed.
  • Your customer gets a signed copy.
  • A deposit invoice goes out on its own when the quote has one.
  • It goes by email, or by text when there is no email.

Changing a quote after it is sent

Edit the quote, then send it again so your customer gets the updated version.
