SMS Opt-In & Consent

End users opt in before any text message is sent. Here is exactly how consent is collected, confirmed, and honored for transactional project texts through Job Site Core.

Job Site Core is a product of HarrisTec LLC · Knoxville, TN · support@jobsitecore.com

How end users opt in

Job Site Core sends only transactional messages tied to an active project — never marketing. End users opt in before any text message is sent:

  1. You provide your number with consent. A customer or subcontractor contacts a contractor — for example, to request a quote or be scheduled for work — and gives the contractor their mobile number, expressly agreeing to receive project-related texts (quotes, invoices, project and appointment updates, payment confirmations, photo-upload requests) from that contractor sent via Job Site Core. Customers can also opt in (or out) at any time from their customer portal notification preferences.
  2. Consent is recorded. Job Site Core stores a consent record for the number (phone number, timestamp, and consent method).
  3. One-time confirmation — reply YES. Before any project message is sent, Job Site Core sends a single confirmation text. No project messages are sent unless the recipient replies YES (replies of START or JOIN are also accepted).
  4. Messages begin. Once confirmed, the recipient receives only the transactional message types listed below — frequency varies (typically 1–5 per project), message & data rates may apply, and every message identifies the sender and includes Reply STOP to opt out and HELP for help.

The confirmation exchange

Smith Construction (via Job Site Core): Reply YES to get project text updates (quotes, invoices, schedule). Msg&data rates may apply, reply STOP to cancel.
YES
You are subscribed to Job Site Core messages. Reply STOP to unsubscribe, HELP for help.

The one-time confirmation sent before any project message, and the automated reply once the recipient confirms. A recipient re-subscribing after a previous STOP receives “You are re-subscribed to Job Site Core messages. Reply STOP to unsubscribe, HELP for help.” instead. Project messages begin only after YES.

Consent is collected specifically for this messaging program, is not a condition of purchase, and is never shared, sold, or transferred. A recipient can opt out at any time by replying STOP (which ends all messages immediately) or from their customer portal.

Separately: how contractors enable SMS for their account

Contractors (the account holders who send messages) turn on text messaging from Settings › Communications inside Job Site Core. The control below mirrors the enablement control and its disclosure. It is off by default, turning it on is optional, and enabling it never bypasses the end-user opt-in described above.
